What Is Mayan in Gem Wallet?

What Is Mayan?

Mayan is a cross-chain swap protocol. Solvers compete to fill your order on the destination network, which makes Mayan fast for stablecoins and major coins.

You don't select Mayan yourself. When you swap, Gem Wallet compares quotes from all supported swap providers and shows Mayan when it offers a route for your pair. The provider is shown on the swap screen before you confirm.

Supported Networks

Gem Wallet uses Mayan for cross-chain swaps between: Ethereum, Solana, Sui, BNB Chain, Base, Polygon, Avalanche C-Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Linea, Unichain, Monad, HyperEVM, and HyperCore.

Assets: Major coins and stablecoins such as USDC on supported networks.

note

A pair only appears when the provider returns a live quote for it. Liquidity, amount limits, and route availability can change at any time.

Refunds

If no solver fills your order before its deadline, Mayan refunds it to your address on the source network. The refund may arrive as the route's main asset, usually USDC or ETH, instead of the token you swapped, and a refund relayer fee is deducted.

Track a Mayan Swap

  1. Open the swap in Activity.
  2. The status shows Pending while Mayan completes the swap, then Completed, Refunded, or Failed.
  3. Open the transaction details and use the Mayan Explorer link to follow the swap on explorer.mayan.finance.

For what each status means and how long to wait, see What Do Cross-Chain Swap Statuses Mean?. If the swap was refunded, see What Does a Refunded Cross-Chain Swap Mean?.

Need Help With a Swap?

Contact Gem Wallet support from Settings > Support in the app, and include the transaction ID of your swap. Before you share anything, read What Information Is Safe to Give Wallet Support?.

warning

Gem Wallet support will never send you a direct message first, ask for your Secret Phrase or private key, or ask you to send funds to "fix" a swap. Anyone who does is a scammer.
