What Is Chainflip in Gem Wallet?
What Is Chainflip?â
Chainflip is a decentralized cross-chain exchange for native assets. You send your deposit to a one-time Chainflip deposit address, and Chainflip delivers the swapped asset on the destination network.
You don't select Chainflip yourself. When you swap, Gem Wallet compares quotes from all supported swap providers and shows Chainflip when it offers a route for your pair. The provider is shown on the swap screen before you confirm.
Supported Networksâ
Gem Wallet uses Chainflip for cross-chain swaps between: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Solana, and TRON.
Assets: Each network's coin plus supported stablecoins such as USDC and USDT. In Gem Wallet, Bitcoin is currently a destination only.
A pair only appears when the provider returns a live quote for it. Liquidity, amount limits, and route availability can change at any time.
Refundsâ
Chainflip swaps from Gem Wallet include a minimum price. If Chainflip can't meet it before the retry window ends, it refunds the deposit to your address on the source network, minus deposit and broadcast fees.
Track a Chainflip Swapâ
- Open the swap in Activity.
- The status shows Pending while Chainflip completes the swap, then Completed, Refunded, or Failed.
- Open the transaction details and use the Chainflip Scan link to follow the swap on scan.chainflip.io.
For what each status means and how long to wait, see What Do Cross-Chain Swap Statuses Mean?. If the swap was refunded, see What Does a Refunded Cross-Chain Swap Mean?.
Need Help With a Swap?â
Contact Gem Wallet support from Settings > Support in the app, and include the transaction ID of your swap. Before you share anything, read What Information Is Safe to Give Wallet Support?.
Gem Wallet support will never send you a direct message first, ask for your Secret Phrase or private key, or ask you to send funds to "fix" a swap. Anyone who does is a scammer.
