What Is Across Protocol in Gem Wallet?
What Is Across Protocol?â
Across Protocol is a fast bridge between Ethereum and other networks. Relayers deliver your funds on the destination network right away and are repaid later by the protocol, so most Across transfers finish in seconds to a few minutes.
You don't select Across Protocol yourself. When you swap, Gem Wallet compares quotes from all supported swap providers and shows Across Protocol when it offers a route for your pair. The provider is shown on the swap screen before you confirm.
Supported Networksâ
Gem Wallet uses Across Protocol for cross-chain swaps between: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, Avalanche C-Chain, BNB Chain, Linea, zkSync, World Chain, Ink, Unichain, Monad, HyperEVM, Plasma, Robinhood Chain, Arc, and TRON.
Assets: Mainly ETH, WETH, USDC, and USDT, depending on the route.
A pair only appears when the provider returns a live quote for it. Liquidity, amount limits, and route availability can change at any time.
Refundsâ
If no relayer fills your transfer before it expires, Across refunds it to your address on the source network. Across refunds are settled in batches and can take several hours.
Track a Across Protocol Swapâ
- Open the swap in Activity.
- The status shows Pending while Across Protocol completes the swap, then Completed, Refunded, or Failed.
- Open the transaction details and use the Across link to follow the swap on across.to.
For what each status means and how long to wait, see What Do Cross-Chain Swap Statuses Mean?. If the swap was refunded, see What Does a Refunded Cross-Chain Swap Mean?.
Need Help With a Swap?â
Contact Gem Wallet support from Settings > Support in the app, and include the transaction ID of your swap. Before you share anything, read What Information Is Safe to Give Wallet Support?.
Gem Wallet support will never send you a direct message first, ask for your Secret Phrase or private key, or ask you to send funds to "fix" a swap. Anyone who does is a scammer.
