Crypto Transaction Confirmed but Not Received
What Does Confirmed but Not Received Mean?β
A blockchain explorer shows that the transaction was successful, but the expected balance is not visible in Gem Wallet or has not been credited by the receiving exchange.
A Successful status confirms that the blockchain processed the transaction. It does not prove that the transaction used the intended recipient address, network, token, or memo.
Blockchain transactions cannot normally be reversed after confirmation. Verify the transaction details before attempting another transfer.
Reproduce and Verify the Issueβ
Use the transaction that is already missing. Do not submit another transfer to reproduce the issue.
If the transaction appears in Gem Wallet:
- Open the asset used for the transaction.
- Select the transaction from the activity list.
- Confirm that Status shows Successful.
- Select View on explorer name at the bottom of the transaction details.
If the incoming transaction does not appear in Gem Wallet, get the transaction ID from the sender or the exchange withdrawal history and open it on the correct blockchain explorer. See How to Find a Crypto Transaction ID.
Check the Recipient Addressβ
On the blockchain explorer, compare the transaction's receiving address with your Gem Wallet address:
- Open the expected asset in Gem Wallet.
- Select Receive.
- Compare the complete address with the recipient shown by the explorer.
Matching only the first and last few characters is useful before sending, but investigate a missing transfer by comparing the complete addresses.
If the explorer shows a different recipient, the funds were delivered to that address. Gem Wallet cannot reverse the transaction or move funds from an address you do not control.
Check the Blockchain Networkβ
The sender and recipient must use the same supported network. A token symbol alone does not identify the network. For example, USDT exists on Ethereum, TRON, BNB Chain, TON, and other networks.
Compare all three details:
- The network selected by the sender or exchange.
- The network shown on the explorer.
- The network of the receiving asset in Gem Wallet.
If the funds were sent on a different network, do not send another transaction. First determine whether Gem Wallet supports that network and whether the receiving address belongs to the same wallet.
Check the Asset or Token Contractβ
If the correct address received a token but Gem Wallet does not display it, verify the token contract address on the explorer. Tokens can share the same name and symbol while using different contracts.
For a supported token that is not enabled in the wallet:
- Open the asset list.
- Select Manage Token List.
- Search for the token and enable it.
If it is not listed, follow How to Add a Custom Token and use the verified contract address from the official token project or explorer.
Do not interact with an unexpected token merely because it appears at your address. Unsolicited tokens can be spam or part of a scam.
Check the Memo, Destination Tag, or Commentβ
Centralized exchanges may use one deposit address for many customers and require an additional identifier. The blockchain can confirm the transfer even when the exchange cannot automatically credit it to your account.
On the explorer, check whether the transaction included the exact memo, destination tag, or comment supplied by the receiving exchange. This is common with assets such as XRP, XLM, ATOM, and TON.
If it is missing or incorrect, contact the receiving exchange. Provide the transaction ID and follow its deposit-recovery process. Gem Wallet cannot add or change a memo after confirmation.
Allow for Exchange Confirmationsβ
An explorer may show Successful before an exchange credits the deposit. Exchanges can require additional block confirmations and internal processing.
Check the receiving exchange's deposit status and confirmation requirement. If the requirement has been met but the deposit remains missing, contact that exchange with:
- The transaction ID.
- The asset and network.
- The deposit address.
- The amount and approximate time.
- The required memo or tag, when applicable.
Refresh Gem Wallet Dataβ
If the explorer shows the correct asset at your complete Gem Wallet address:
- Confirm that the device has a stable internet connection.
- Reopen Gem Wallet and return to the asset.
- Make sure the correct token is enabled in Manage Token List.
- Update Gem Wallet to the latest available version.
If the balance still does not appear, open Settings > Support and provide the public transaction ID, blockchain, asset, and public wallet address.
Support does not need your recovery phrase or private key. Never share either one.
Resolution Checklistβ
- The explorer shows Successful or Confirmed.
- The complete recipient address matches the Gem Wallet receive address.
- The sender used the expected blockchain network.
- The token contract is correct and the token is enabled.
- Any required memo, destination tag, or comment is correct.
- The receiving exchange's confirmation requirement has been met.
If the explorer still shows the transaction as pending, follow Why Is My Crypto Transaction Pending? instead.
