Why Is My Fiat Sell Payout Delayed?

A sell order started in Gem Wallet can remain pending while the fiat provider verifies the order, waits for your crypto transfer, converts the crypto, or sends the payout to your bank or payment method.

Gem Wallet displays the provider's latest available status, but it does not process the sale or bank payout. The selected fiat provider controls those steps.

Check the Sell Order in Gem Wallet

If you already have a sell order, you can reproduce this check without creating another order:

  1. Select the same wallet used to start the sale.
  2. Open Buy for an asset and switch to Sell.
  3. Select the Activity icon in the upper-right corner.
  4. Find the sale by its date, crypto amount, fiat amount, and provider.
  5. Check whether the order is Pending, Failed, or Complete.
  6. Select the row to open the provider's official order page when a link is available.

Do not create another sell order solely to test the status or resend crypto to an address from an earlier order.

Identify Where the Payout Is Delayed

The Crypto Transfer Is Still Pending

If the provider gives you a deposit address, verify the transfer on the source network's blockchain explorer:

  • The transaction is confirmed, not only submitted.
  • The asset and network match the provider's instructions.
  • The complete deposit address is correct.
  • Any required memo or destination tag was included.
  • The received amount meets the provider's order requirements after network fees.

An unconfirmed blockchain transaction must first be confirmed by its network. If you used the wrong network, address, or memo, contact the provider with the transaction hash; do not send a second transfer unless the provider explicitly instructs you to do so.

The Provider Is Processing the Sale

After receiving the crypto, the provider may still perform compliance checks, convert the asset, or prepare the payout. Open the provider's order page and check your email, including Spam or Junk, for any identity or payment-method request.

Gem Wallet cannot approve KYC, change the order status, or release the payout.

The Provider Says the Payout Was Sent

Bank transfers and card payouts can take additional time after the provider marks an order complete. Ask the provider for the payout date, method, amount, and bank or payment reference. Then give that reference to your bank or payment service so it can trace the transfer.

The blockchain transaction hash proves the crypto transfer to the provider; it is not the bank payout reference.

The Order Failed or Was Refunded

If the provider rejected the sale after receiving crypto, check the order page for its refund status and destination transaction hash. Verify the refund on the correct blockchain explorer and make sure the returned token is enabled in Gem Wallet.

Never pay a fee or send more crypto to someone claiming through social media that they can release the payout or refund.

Contact the Fiat Provider

Contact the provider when:

  • A confirmed crypto deposit is not reflected in the order.
  • Verification or provider processing remains pending.
  • The order is complete but the payout has not arrived.
  • A failed order has no refund transaction or explanation.
  • The order page and provider email show conflicting statuses.

Collect the provider order number, crypto transaction hash, payout details, date, amounts, asset, and network. Follow How to Find a Fiat Provider Order Number and use the official channel listed in How to Contact a Fiat Provider.

Contact Gem Wallet through Settings > Support only if the problem is with the wallet interface or a confirmed on-chain refund to the correct address is not displayed. Never share your recovery phrase, private key, passcode, bank password, or authentication codes.
