How to Verify the Destination Transaction of a Swap

When to Verify a Swap

Check the destination transaction when:

  • A cross-chain swap stays In Transit longer than expected.
  • A swap shows Failed, but you think the funds may have arrived. Gem Wallet marks a swap Failed if the provider gives no final result within 12 hours, even if delivery happens later.
  • An exchange or another person asks for proof that the swap was delivered.
  • The received asset doesn't show in your wallet. See Why Is My Completed Swap Missing from Activity?.

Step 1 - Open the Swap in Gem Wallet

  1. Open Activity in the wallet you swapped from.
  2. Select the swap.
  3. Note the source transaction ID, the networks, the assets, and the amount you expected to receive.

Step 2 - Open the Provider's Explorer

In the swap details, open the provider's explorer link. If there's no link, search the provider's explorer with your source transaction ID.

On the provider's page, look for the swap's status and its destination, outbound, or fill transaction ID.

Step 3 - Open the Destination Transaction

Open the destination transaction ID on the destination network's block explorer. Most provider explorers link to it directly. Check that:

  • Status is successful or confirmed.
  • To (the recipient) is your address on the destination network. Compare it with the address on your Receive screen for that network.
  • Asset is the one you expected, such as native ETH or USDC on the right network.
  • Amount is close to the quote. It can be a little lower than the original quote because of price movement, slippage, and provider fees, but should be at least the Minimum Received shown before you confirmed.

If all four match, the swap was delivered, even if Gem Wallet still shows In Transit or Failed.

Step 4 - Make Sure Gem Wallet Shows It

  • Add or turn on the received asset and its network if they're not on your wallet screen.
  • Pull down on the wallet screen to refresh balances.
