How to List a Token on Gem Wallet

Do I Need to Apply to List a Token?

No. Gem Wallet doesn't have an application process for listing tokens. A token is added automatically when either:

  • A Gem Wallet address receives it, or
  • A price provider such as CoinGecko lists it.

Once a token is in Gem Wallet, anyone can find it by its network and contract address. There's no payment step in this process.

What a Listing Includes

PartWhere it comes from
The token itselfAdded automatically, as described above
LogoGem Wallet's open-source assets repository on GitHub, where anyone can add a missing logo
Price and chartMarket data providers such as CoinGecko. A token they don't list is still supported, but without a price or chart

A token without a price still shows its balance and can be sent and received. See Why Is a Token's Value Missing or Not in My Total?

How to Check Whether a Token Is Supported

  1. Open the Gem Wallet token listing page.
  2. Select the token's network.
  3. Paste its contract address.

The page shows whether Gem Wallet has the token and whether it has a logo.

You'll need a free GitHub account and the token's official logo:

  • A square PNG file named logo.png
  • 256 × 256 pixels
  • A transparent background

Then:

  1. On the token listing page, select the network and paste the contract address.
  2. Select the token to open its folder in the assets repository.
  3. Upload your logo.png.
  4. Select Propose changes, then Create pull request.

The logo is published once the pull request is merged. Gem Wallet then syncs it, so it can take a while to appear on the page and in the app.

tip

Use the token's official logo only. In the repository, each token's logo lives at blockchains/<network>/assets/<contract address>/logo.png. EVM contract addresses use their checksummed form, with mixed upper- and lowercase letters.

Why a Token Is Marked as Not Available

Gem Wallet turns off tokens that are flagged as spam or malicious, such as tokens that copy a well-known token's name and symbol. If your token is marked as not available and you think it's a mistake, contact Gem Wallet support.

For Users: Add a Token That Isn't Showing

If a token isn't in Gem Wallet yet, you can add it yourself as a custom token: open Manage Tokens, add a custom token, select its network, and paste its contract address. Only add tokens whose contract you got from the official project. See How to Add a Token or Custom Token on Gem Wallet.

warning

Be careful with anyone who offers to get a token "listed on Gem Wallet" for a fee or asks for wallet access. Listing works through the public page and GitHub described above. When in doubt, ask Gem Wallet support through the app.
