What Is Squid in Gem Wallet?
What Is Squid?â
Squid is a cross-chain router. In Gem Wallet, Squid handles swaps between networks in the Cosmos ecosystem, moving assets between chains over IBC.
You don't select Squid yourself. When you swap, Gem Wallet compares quotes from all supported swap providers and shows Squid when it offers a route for your pair. The provider is shown on the swap screen before you confirm.
Supported Networksâ
Gem Wallet uses Squid for cross-chain swaps between: Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, Celestia, Injective, Noble, and Sei.
Assets: Each network's coin plus supported IBC assets such as USDC.
A pair only appears when the provider returns a live quote for it. Liquidity, amount limits, and route availability can change at any time.
Circle plans to pause Noble USDC on January 12, 2027. See the Noble (USDC) page before swapping to or from Noble.
Track a Squid Swapâ
- Open the swap in Activity.
- The status shows Pending while Squid completes the swap, then Completed, Refunded, or Failed.
- Open the transaction details and use the Skip Explorer link to follow the swap on explorer.skip.build.
For what each status means and how long to wait, see What Do Cross-Chain Swap Statuses Mean?. If the swap was refunded, see What Does a Refunded Cross-Chain Swap Mean?.
Need Help With a Swap?â
Contact Gem Wallet support from Settings > Support in the app, and include the transaction ID of your swap. Before you share anything, read What Information Is Safe to Give Wallet Support?.
Gem Wallet support will never send you a direct message first, ask for your Secret Phrase or private key, or ask you to send funds to "fix" a swap. Anyone who does is a scammer.
